Shortcuts Menu


Shortcuts allow you to perform various Howler functions using the keyboard. The first group of items apply to the active Howler, while the second group apply to all open Howlers.

    Per-Howler Shortcuts:

  • Alarm: Alarm will display a date field, which allows you to set the time this Howler should end. When you press "Start" it will automatically calculate the time until the target date, and then start counting down.

  • Stopwatch/Countdown: This shortcut will toggle Stopwatch mode on or off. When Stopwatch mode is active, the Howler will count up instead of down, and it will never play the alarm or countdown sounds. Like Countdown timers, it can be stopped and started. Stopwatch Howlers can't be saved to Presets.

  • More/Hide Options: Toggles the options drawer. This is equivalent to pressing the button on the Howler Window.
  • Keep Howling: Toggles the Keep Howling checkbox, located in the options drawer of this Howler. When checked, the alarm sound will continue to play until you press the Reset button or close the window.
  • Full Screen: Immediately enters full screen mode with the active Howler. This can only be done while the Howler is running (actively counting down or up). You may exit full screen mode by pressing any key or by clicking the mouse.
  • Reset: Reset will stop the Howler if running, and set the time to the last Start time. For example, if you set the Howler to 2 minutes and then start it, and then stop it 5 seconds later, the time will now read 1 minute 54 seconds. Reset will set the time back to 2 minutes. In Stopwatch mode, Reset sets the time to 0.

    • Global Shortcuts:

  • Start All: This command will start all open Howlers simultaneously.
  • Mute/Unmute All: This command will toggle Howler Pro's global mute setting. This is the same as toggling the checkbox in Preferences or clicking on the sound icon at the top of a Howler.
